Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you might want to know before we start.

From timelines and pricing to WordPress, content, SEO and ongoing support. Here are the questions clients usually ask before starting a project.

01

Working together

What the collaboration looks like before and during your project.

I work mainly with small businesses, freelancers, hospitality, wellness and lifestyle brands that need a professional digital presence without the complexity of working with a large agency. I can work with clients locally or remotely.
Absolutely. Most communication can be handled remotely through email, WhatsApp and video calls. Project files, feedback and approvals can all be shared digitally, so your location doesn’t need to be a barrier.
We first discuss your business, goals, audience, current website if you have one, and what you need the new website to achieve. I then define the project scope, deliverables, timeline and price before any design or development begins.
Communication can take place through email, WhatsApp and scheduled video calls . I keep feedback grouped into clear project stages so decisions don’t get lost across dozens of messages.
02

Pricing & payments

How quotes, deposits and project costs work.

Website pricing depends on the size and complexity of the project. A simple brochure site has very different requirements from a website with booking flows, custom functionality, multilingual content or a complete brand identity. After discussing your needs, you’ll receive a clear quote based on the actual project scope.
For custom projects, payment can be divided into milestones rather than requiring the full project fee upfront. The exact payment schedule will be confirmed in your proposal before work starts.
Domain registration and hosting are generally separate third-party costs , because they remain under your ownership. I can help you choose the appropriate setup and configure everything correctly for your website.
The agreed project scope is priced before development starts. If you request additional pages, functionality or work outside the original scope, I’ll let you know the additional cost before carrying it out.
03

Your website project

Timelines, revisions and how your website gets built.

Timelines depend on the project size, complexity and how quickly content and feedback are provided. A small website can be completed considerably faster than a full brand and website project. You’ll receive an estimated timeline before the project starts.
Yes. Your website is developed and reviewed before publication. You’ll be able to check the design, content and functionality and provide feedback before the final launch.
The number of feedback rounds depends on the project package and will be clearly stated in your proposal. Feedback is grouped into defined stages to keep the project efficient and avoid endless revision loops.
Yes. All custom websites are built with responsive layouts and checked across different screen sizes so the experience remains clear and usable on desktop, tablet and mobile.
Yes. A redesign can include an audit of the current website, navigation and content structure, visual design, mobile experience, performance and conversion flow. We can keep what already works and rebuild what doesn’t.
04

Content & branding

What you’ll need to provide and where I can help.

Ideally, your core information, services and visual assets should be available before development reaches the final stages. If you’re not sure how to structure your content, I can help define the page hierarchy and identify what information each section needs.
We can discuss temporary or licensed visual alternatives depending on the project. For brand-led websites, original photography is still recommended whenever possible because it makes the final website feel much more authentic.
Yes. Depending on the project, I can work on visual direction, color palette, typography, logo applications and brand guidelines so the website feels consistent with the wider brand.
Depending on the project, additional communication materials can be included, such as social media visuals, promotional assets, print materials or content planning. These are quoted according to the scope you need.
05

Technical, WordPress & SEO

What happens behind the pretty screens.

Yes. WordPress is one of the platforms I use for client websites because it allows businesses to manage their own content after launch while still supporting custom design and functionality.
Yes, where appropriate. I aim to build websites that remain manageable after handover, so common content such as text, images, blog posts or basic pages can be updated without rebuilding the entire website.
Custom websites include the foundations needed for technical and on-page SEO , such as semantic structure, metadata setup, mobile responsiveness and search-engine-friendly pages. More advanced keyword research, ongoing SEO strategy or content production can be scoped separately.
These tools can be configured as part of the project when included in the agreed scope. They allow you to monitor traffic, search visibility and website performance after launch.
Yes. Performance work can include image optimisation, caching, lazy loading, responsive assets and reducing unnecessary page weight. Final performance also depends on hosting, third-party scripts and the content added to the site.
WordPress projects can include essential security configuration, SSL, backup setup and basic hardening. Ongoing maintenance responsibilities are defined separately depending on whether you manage the site yourself or want continued support.
06

After launch

Ownership, maintenance and what happens once your website is live.

Once the agreed project has been completed and paid according to the project terms, the website is handed over to you along with the relevant access credentials. Third-party software, fonts, plugins or stock assets remain subject to their own licences.
Ongoing support can be discussed separately. This may include WordPress updates, backups, minor content changes, technical checks or future improvements depending on what your website needs.
That’s completely possible. Your business may evolve after launch, so new pages, functionality or design updates can be quoted as additional work when needed.
07

Website templates

For clients who want a faster, lower-cost starting point.

A template gives you an existing website structure and design that can be customised with your own content, colors and imagery. A custom website is designed around your specific brand, audience, content and business requirements from the start.
The templates are intended to make setup considerably easier than building a website from scratch. The exact level of setup required depends on the template, and guidance is provided with the product.
Yes. Where a live demonstration is available, you’ll find a Live preview link directly on the template product card so you can explore the design before deciding.
Yes. If you like one of the templates but don’t want to set everything up yourself, contact me and we can discuss customisation or implementation as a separate service.
